Gudjon—pronounced the opposite of Bad-John—Bergmann was born on December 24, 1972, in Reykjavik, Iceland, where he spent the early years of his career in the music industry. After he was introduced to yoga in 1996 by his mentor Yogi Shanti Desai, he turned his life around and began focusing on helping others through smoking cessation seminars, yoga, stress management, meditation, and more.
Gudjon met his wife Jóhanna in 2000 and they got married in 2001. Together they have two children. After finding out that his wife had been a US citizen from birth, the family moved to Texas in 2010 where Gudjon became a US citizen in 2013. He was ordained as an Interfaith Minister in 2017 after studying at All Faiths Seminary International and has written over thirty books and trained thousands of people, both in person and online.
Today, Bergmann works as a book coach and interfaith minister. He continues to create books and music to nurture his deep interest in humanism, spirituality, and the world's religions.
